Computer Science Engineering & Information Technology :

The Importance : Computer is the most powerful machine man has ever created. Computers have made a great impact on our every day life. Its presence is felt at almost every working place may it be a process, service or industrial setup. Starting from manufacturing a Niddle to a Ship, Aeroplane or a Space Craft, Misile or a Fighter Plane, Agricultre, Medical, Aviation, Hospitality, Dress & Jwellery Designing, Finance, Entertainment, Research & Development or any thing else concerning our life is one or the other way computer dependent. By its nature the use of computers has become unavoidable starting from the last two decades of previous century. It has therefore become the most demanding branch of engineering in todays era. After completion of bachelor degree from this branch the students can get good opportunities in the country and abroad also or one can start his / her business with low investment.

The Capable Mentors : The Department of CSE & IT is headed by Prof. (Dr) A. K. Srivastava, Ph.D. (CS) along with a well qualified, dedicated & experienced team of about three dozen. technically sound faculty members out of which 12. Faculties are M.E./M. Tech.

Industry / Technical Partnerships : In addition to teaching as per the University Syllabus, industry oriented latest computer courses are also taught as beyond curricula technical input to fill the gap between industry's demands and the quality of students available for employment. These courses are arranged under Industry, Institute Partnership Activities in association with multinational software companies like SQL, CISCO, Microsoft, IBM, SPICE, Oracle, Infosys, EMC etc. For this various MOUs have also been signed. The department also send students to these industries for practical training so that they get latest industrial exposure in software designing and development.

The Teaching Methodology : The latest audio visual teaching aids adopted by the department involves rigorous use of Multimedia Presentation for lectures, mostly the teaching learninig process is conducted through Over Head Projector, Laptop, Computer Aided Instructions, LCD Projector etc.

Departmental Societies : The students of CSE & IT Deptt. have created departments' own Societies by the name “ABACUS” & "CRED". The ABACUS as every body knows is a greek word used for a certain method of calculations. In the ancestral period the calculation were done based on movement of wooden beads. This calculation method has been treated as the genesis of the current state of forth & fifth generation computers. The CRED is a Brainchild society of students of Information Technology Department. Both the societies are shouldering the responsibility of creating awareness among students about latest technology developments & research and development activities in the areas of CE & IT related global activities by organizing various State / National Level Technical Quiz, Project Exhibition, Cultural Events etc. from time to time. These activities independently plan, arranged & conducted by students helps them to become good Engineers to serve the society.

Laboratories : IET is proud to have developed a state of the art world class infrastructure for more than a dozen of fully air conditioned most advanced level computer labs equipped with more than 500 latest configuration PCs.

To facilitate the best effectivness of the faculties and the best input to the students a four storied independent building has been provided for CSE & IT Department. The Computer Labs available at IET under this department unique in its nature for various reasons is proud to be the largest in Rajashtan. Department is equipped with the Latest Technologies like IBM Xeon Servers, Thin Client Terminals and 5th Generation Techniques of Software Development for the teaching purposes. The whole IET Campus is proud to be the first fully Wi-Fi enabled environment. All laboratories of CE & IT are supervised by well qualified, hardworking, dedicated and technically trained Lab Staff guided by a Faculty incharge for each lab. Department has a seperate Internet Lab with 2 mbps Leased Line connection through BSNL for students Project & R&D work.
