The Institution of Engineering and Technology

The IET is one of the world’s leading professional societies for the engineering and technology community, with more than 150,000 members in 127 countries and offices in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific. The IET provides a global knowledge network to facilitate the exchange of ideas and promote the positive role of science, engineering and technology in the world.

The Delhi Network of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) was established way back in the year 1952 (earlier known as Delhi International Centre). Since then, we have established about 22 Student Chapters in and around the Delhi region. The total membership of the IET Delhi Network is currently more than 200 members.

The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute, New Delhi, a field office of the Development Commissioner (MSME), Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, provides a range of services for promotion and up-gradation of Small-Scale units in the jurisdiction of State of Delhi, District Faridabad of Haryana and districts Gautam Budh Nagar & Ghaziabad of Uttar Pradesh by providing consultancy on projects and areas of investment including technical information for selection of suitable plant and machinery, manufacturing process, products designing & diversification, plant lay out preparation etc.

The mission of the CSI is to facilitate research, knowledge sharing, learning and career enhancement for all categories of IT professionals, while simultaneously inspiring and nurturing new entrants into the industry and helping them to integrate into the IT community. ISTE was founded in the year 1967 with a mission to advance for the cause of education in general and all its function which pertain to engineering and allied branches of engineering and technology, architecture and town planning, pharmacy, management, process of teaching and learning, research, extension services and public relations in particular. The main goal is to serve as a common agency for stimulating and guiding its members to formulate the general goals and responsibilities of technical education for the service of mankind and the advancement of general welfare.

ISTE has a good reputation in the field of technical education and it strives hard in order to cultivate a fraternal spirit among teachers, administrators, technicians, investigators, practitioners and industrialists. ISTE cooperates with Central and State Governments industry and approved institutions, professional bodies, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Department of Science and Technology (DST) and individuals in the cause of technical education and research. ISTE continues to be a leading non-profit making professional body in engineering in India. In the context of the new globalized economy in which we live it is important that we remain focused on our mission to promote excellence in the field of technical education and provide quality services to our members.
